Artist Spotlight: In:Most

Thu, 25 May 2017 at 17:57

This week the spotlight is on up-and-coming Liquid Drum & Bass duo In:Most. What's fascinating about these two lads is that one half of the group 'Josh Croft' is based in Cambridge UK, and the other half, 'Bailey Greer' is based in Brisbane Australia. Despite living at other ends of the world from each other, Josh and Bailey still manage to churn out some beautifully crafted Liquid Drum & Bass with EP's on labels Soulvent Records and Goldfat records. It's without question that 2017 is going to be a big year for the boys so make sure you keep a keen eye out for them.

Check out In:Most's flawless EP on Soulvent Records:

We could'nt feature these guys on our website without getting them to do an interview with us of course! We were very keen to ask both of the lads about their views on the Liquid D&B scene as well as the sound they're trying to push. This is what they had to say when we asked them some questions...

How did the two of you come together to create In:Most?

It was through a mutual appreciation of each others music when we were working on our previous projects (Greed & Aux Verba). We’d collaborated on tunes beforehand, like this one and decided it was the right time to focus on a full time project.

What producing software / hardware do you use?

We use Ableton Live 9, and Dropbox to store project files & samples.

Your brand new EP on Soulvent records is outstanding. You can hear the In:Most signature style in all the tracks. In a scene full of up-and-coming producers searching for diversity, did it prove difficult finding your own unique style?

Cheers! To be honest, not really - we both bring different sounds to the table when it comes to production & ideas, and the blend of the two is what makes our sound “unique” per say. Of course we’re both influenced by similar artists, but what you hear on the most recent EP is without a doubt the best representation of an equal distribution of our individual sounds so far. What’s great though is that with every release, the combined sound naturally evolves and becomes more focused.

What kind of key artists got you into Drum & Bass?

Josh: For me its artists like Netsky, Blu Mar Ten, Fred V & Grafix and Camo & Krooked.
Bailey: Good question, for me it’s guys like Pendulum, London Elektricity, Logistics, Fred V & Grafix and Blu Mar Ten.

Who do you rate in the game at the moment?

Josh: Changing Faces, Phaction, Fluidity - shout outs to you guys, smashing it!
Bailey: Definitely agree with Josh, also Lavance, Bredren, Flite and Pola & Bryson.

What's the best gig you've played to date?

Josh: For me it has to be the gig I played in my hometown in Wales called ElevateUK. The fact that I was playing to old mates & people I’d only seen in the lower years of school was a bit surreal, but great vibes all around & a lot of fun, looking to do some more stuff with the guys in Wales in the future.

What can we expect from you in the next few months?

Josh: We’ve got a couple of releases lined up on some well known labels & collaborations in the works with some pretty big names as well, unfortunately can’t say more than that at the moment!
Gigs wise, looking forward to playing Hospitality in The Park at the Incubator Stage, Bailey is flying over from Australia to play it with me, so it’s gonna be a really special set - keep an eye out for us!
Bailey: I’m looking forward to hospitality in the park, can’t wait to play on stage at a dnb gig for the first time and also play alongside with Josh for the first time! Can’t Wait!

Finally, where do you want to be in 5 years time?

Josh: I’d like to be playing gigs with Bailey internationally & be able to support ourselves full time from music.. that's the dream anyways!
Bailey: I’d like to be able to support myself with music and play gigs with josh all over the globe! Nothing wrong with chasing that dream!

Thanks for the interview guys!
